Over 62 years since the Brown v. Board of Education decisions, African American students continue to lack equal access to a high quality education and still lag behind their white peers in reading and math proficiency, high school rates, and college completion.

Byrd Youth Fraternity along with the Order of the Knights of Pythagoras and the Simon-Cunningham Grand Youth Fraternity, Jurisdiction of Maryland participated in the "STEM Experience" Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics at North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (NC A&T) in Greensboro, NC on October 16th & 17th.

September 10, 2015 Phyllis S. Byrd and the Order of the Knights of Pythagoras united again for a Masonic Youth Day of Service. We hosted a Jeans for Teens campaign and gave over 340 jean items to the Covenant House of Washington, DC to cloth teens that have been displaced from their homes.
